I saw somewhere on the site that here is a 25MB plan for $9.99 and now I cannot find it. Can someone provide the link?

There is one. See attachment. I got this from attempting to add it to one of my lines on My Verizon. You can add it yourself online if you are registered as the account owner.

Yes. You can access email from AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, and I think Verizon.net from Mobile Web. You can also access FB from Mobile Web at http://m.facebook.com.

If you need email from an Internet Service Provider like Time Warner, Comcast, Cox, ATT, etc where you have a POP3 username and password, then you need Mobile Email. Mobile Email as a standalone download from the Media Center/Get it Now is $5 a month plus MB charges, but it's included at no extra cost in the Connect and Premium Plans

I have the mobile email. I can acess my aim mail account but can not acess the messages on my Time Warner cable email account(tx.rr.com). I can open it, I can send email, but am unable to see my inbox. I  have a new LG enV Touch.

Any one else ran into this with Time Warner.

I think VZW should bring the connect plans back!  That's all :smileyhappy:

i believe you can upgrade to a connect plan with unlimited data for roughly the same price as the 25 mb plan.

That's true if you go from a Select Plan (unlimited messaging) to a Connect Plan (unlimited messaging plus unlimited megabytes and Mobile Email) -- it's only $10 more. However, jumping from a Basic Plan (pay per use messaging) to a Connect Plan is a $20 increase.

I am considering this new 25mb data plan for $10.  My question is how much internet time, facebook, email, etc time do you get with that 25mb?  I know it is based on your usage, but I have NO experience with data usage over cell phones.  If I go to facebook 5 times for 10 minutes each time is that going to use up my 25mb?

I hope this question makes sense.  I wouldn't plan on being on the phone all the time, just occasionally checking out things on the web, etc since I am a computer most of the day.  But it would be nice to be able to occasionally check for news updates, sports scores, facebook, email, etc.

Thanks.

What you can do is add the 25MB plan, then monitor your usage with MyVerizon.  It does typically lag behind 24-48 hours, but after a week or so you should have an idea if you are close to the 25 MB limit or not.  If you are close, or over, then bump up to Connect for $10 or $20 more (depending on your plan now) and BACKDATE it to the beginning of the billing cycle to cover all your data usage for the cycle.  If you are not close, then you know the 25 MB plan will work for you.

25 mb is about the size of 5 good quality mp3 songs.

Personally I can burn through 25 mb in no time at all.

I just signed up for the 25 MB plan and think I was given wrong information by the rep at verizon who sold me the phone and the customer service person I talked to at verizon when I called to question the usage.  I was told that 40 web pages was equal to 3 MB!!!  I have gone on the phone a looked at the weather twice and checked my emails about 3 times(didn't read my emails, just looked at who I got them from) and I have already used 7.8 MB, so how can 40 web pages equal 3 MB? The only other thing I did was download one set of ringtones, which it said were free, so I assumed I wouldn't be charged any usage but maybe I was wrong. I am beginning to think that I have been HAD!  I really wanted a smartphone because I love old Palm and just wanted something that I could sync to my computer so I could save all my appointments and notes, but the only way you can get a smartphone was to pay $30 for the data package. I was looking for just a regular phone so the sales guy showed me where they were. After I decided on the one I wanted I found out that I needed to have a data package with it. When he told me that 40 pages was only 3 MB, I thought that I could live with that and it would probably be nice to check my emails once in a while when I was gone all day and away from my computer. Now I think that 25 MB is going to be so minimal that it's not going to be worth it. Does anyone else have any idea of what you can do with 25 MB-and does anyone else know how many MB 40 pages really is?

I have the basic plan with add a line. We have the motorola rival and are thinking of the data plan on each for $10. Is this the most cost effective?

That would depend on your usage - if you use less than 25 MB a month (which really isn't a whole lot!) then the extra $10 per line would be less than bumping up to Connect from the Basic.  If your usage is between 25 and 75 MB or more, then the plan costs $19.99 PER LINE, in which case you'd be better off going to Connect, which would cost the same ($20 more per line), but give you unlimited data, and unlimited texting on both lines, a much better deal.

Does VZW still offer the connect plans?  It appears now that data plans are now only an adder to family share plans either $10/per line for a 25 Mb plan or $30/line for unlimited.

No more conenect plan anymore.  Those who have it get to keep till their next change.  Newcomers open your wallets and hand big red your cash.  And if you think 25mb is enough... your probably wrong.  If you check facebook everyday, you'll probably exceed it.  When the rumors about them dropping the connect plan came out I decided to check my usage just to see how much I use for future notice.....  I banged out 52 mb's last month...  WOW...  I read VZW news, check weather, and watch a youtube video now and then....  and Im sure the videos while short, are a big chunk of that.  But its not like I am on my internet on my EnvTouch all the time like some people are.  I don't check email with it(though I could because the connect plan included email).  And the thing is, when i first got my EnvTouch I wasn't going to even use the internet.....but I figured for 10 bucks unlimited I could get 10 dollars worth and I do.  But I can't get 30 bucks worth of internet out of the EnvTouch... thats smartphone kind of ability there.

This sucks.  Verizon is being greedy.  And if you don't want it at all... fine.... you still will be charged per Megabyte.  So don't ever touch that get it now button and even browse something.. cuz thats data and even if its only on for 10 seconds, you will be charged 1.99 because the automatically round it up to 1mb.  (another reason I got it... especially on the app frienfly touch... or so we all thought it would be... turned out the touch is far from app friendly)    And more reason we should not pay more then 10 for unlimited data....  this is price increase is going to cause TONS of headaches.

I used 13 MB in 3 three days by checking my favorite blog twice, reading the news on the homepage, and checking a couple of websites.  I was on my web for very little actual time.  Going through 25 without even realizing it would be a breeze.  Any page with photot or graphics contains more MB, and you won't even know it until you check your usage.  I would caution people to be very,v very careful if you sign up for 25. Check your usage often.

I average about 20 MB data per month using Mobile Email several times per day and occasional Mobile Web for news.  I don't use any video or graphics intensive applications.  If you do, you will likely exceed 25 MB in a short time.  I have the Vcast Pack plan with unlimited data for $15/month which is no longer available for new subscribers. Frankly, I wouldn't pay $30 per month for an unlimited data plan with a "3G multimedia phone".  For that money you can get a true smartphone.

The 25mb data plan is useless and Verizon knows it.  They are hoping people will go over their allotted data amounts so they will make more money.  If you want a true data plan you should either fork over the money for a data phone or get one of the cheap phones and block the data.
