Are my text messages back up to the cloud during backup? Why can't I see them on the cloud?

I thought when you backed up the phone it backed up text messages too.  Is this not the case?

And I need to see the actual text message content not just the date and time.

The answer is yes jeep87, your messages backup to the Verizon Cloud. However, the backup file is not a file that can be read online. This file is only to sync and be read on your phone.
