Help, I am becoming extremely frustrated, because I cannot figure out who text messaged me nor view the content of the messages, because they were sent prior to refilling my balance and I received a notice that I had insufficient funds to read them. I am starting to feel that prepaid is a waste of money, if Verizon cannot store my messages for me.

Why not just refill on time if the messages were so important?

I may have needed to pose my question more clearly. My prepaid plan is pay as you go. I don't refill my balance monthly. I only use my phone when I need it. But regardless of whether I have the balance activated or not, I still find that when I turn it on to activate a refill card, I have these notices regarding insufficient funds to receive incoming text messages.

How long ago were the messages sent? I believe even on postpaid plans, text messages are only stored for a brief time (a few days perhaps?).
On prepaid, if the account is not "active" (due to the funds not being replenished), it's certainly possible (perhaps even expected) that the messages would not be "stored" at all.
