Can text messages be printed in the same way that emails can? If so, how can I do this and if not can the folks at Verizon do so?

You can forward your text messages to an e-mail address and print them that way. Verizon is not going to print the messages for you, even if they still have them on their servers, they will require a supeona before turning them over. Some phones can connect to a printer wirelessly, but I don't know if they can use that feature to print texts. You might read your phone's manual and see if it has that capability.
