My friend was going through a divorce this year, he had the actual printed text of every text message sent on the phones he paid for. Pages and pages of text messages. So i know its possible, they are leaving out a step here. I suggest contacting a lawyer or the state department of consumer affairs.
I appreciate you bringing forth such a fantastic question, l911. I understand the necessity of keeping track of text message. We have readily available information on text message date, time, and phone number associated. To see the content of the message this would need to have a court ordered subpoena.
