Up till a week back I was able to send sms/mms gmails to my Samsung S6 but recently it stopped working.   I tried a different email provider and vzwpics works as expected.

Is there a way to get the gmail method of sending a mms message to the phone to work again?

Thanks for waiting. This is what I found:

  1. Open your texting app on your phone.
  2. In the recipient field, enter an email address where you would normally type in a phone number.
  3. Write your message as normal and send it. Your cell phone provider will convert your message into an email.

Unfortunately, the agents responding here are not understanding the issue being reported.  Possibly it isn't clear enough, but as reported in MANY other threads, emails from gmail to Verizon number at VTEXT.COM or VZWPIX.COM are NOT consistently delivered to Verizon phones as sms/mms text messages .  Emails from other email services DO get delivered to Verizon phones correctly.  Here is a screenshot of the Verizon Support FAQ which is not working from GMAIL consistently:

The link info requires a Google Fi number.  Are you suggesting that I switch my cell service from Verizon to Google Fi  in order to use an email to text service?  It is disappointing and frustrating that Verizon is now enforcing a data use agreement that they ignored for 10 years and require an expensive service subscription to get @VTEXT.com to work.

Only way to fix it is to submit a network ticket to whitelist the senders email and the phone number you are texting.   So the unfortunate process is this.

1. Contact support and say you need to submit a network ticket.  This should get you to L2 support.  If you don't get to L2 keep asking that the ticket be escalated as no one in L1 can assist you .

2. You can TRY to explain it to a L2, but I went through 3 of them before I just asked for a supervisor or "leadership" is the term they use.

3. If you find a L2 who understands (or get to someone in leadership) they should be able to submit the network ticket to whitelist your sender/phone number.

4. Wait 7-10 days for the ticket to be worked

I'm on step 4.....
