My Facebook account has been disabled and the only method of receiving a security check code is SMS to my Verizon Android phone. I did not receive any SMS from Facebook, and I exceeded my attempts to receive the code for 24 hours. I cannot get into my Facebook account settings to check if the carrier is listed correctly, or to see if SMS messaging is turned off. Facebook does not offer customer support, and their help articles say "Contact your cellphone carrier"
I'm here to help with your message concern, let's look into this. Are you able to receive all other messages? When did the problem begin? Please tell me more.
Most cases when it's a verification code send to your phone, it's filtered as spam. I believe it's to prevent other people getting on your account and overriding all of your other stuff. If someone hacked your VText, then they can just send everything to the phone to reset all your passwords for other accounts. I believe it's preventative measure and it terrible. But there's a reason for it.
Most get caught and filtered. Some make it through.
Mostly the major ones don't get through.
I know Google, PNC Bank, Venmo and even Verizon doesn't not go through. So it totally terrible when you need to check texts, but don't have your phone. You can't log on which sort of defeats the purpose of what I use it for.
I don't understand how Verizon Customer Service is gonna sit there and ask questions. That just shows they really don't understand how their own system works. The support staff isn't very knowledgeable. Wish they actually trained their staff or had staff that actually used the product.
I have never had issues getting verification codes from Facebook, my bank and other places. I use the stock samsung message app on my phone not message + though. Before this used the stock LG messaging app on an LG phone. The question is does it happen on all essaging apps you try or just one specific one? If only one try a different app.
I'm trying to respond! I've written out my reply 3 times and this website has logged me out each time without posting my reply.
I figured out the problem all on my own. This website is not letting me post my full response, so I am not going to provide assistance to anyone else with this question as a result.
Gee are you always so helpful to other people in life when they have troubles with something? Myself if I figure something out tech wise I am more than willing to share the solution to help others but I tend to help a lot of people in life with stuff. The way I was brought up I guess.
HelpBrittany Your satisfaction is important to us, and your feedback is essential. Can you please tell me more about what's happening when you try to post? Do you see any error messages? You are truly a good person. We appreciate you for your willingness to help others. Please tell your parents they did a WONDERFUL job raising you. Please stay safe and healthy and have a GREAT day!
It’s been over a week and I’m having the same issue. Made a new account and can’t verify because I’m not getting texts. It’s very frustrating. Locked out of my old account and can’t create a new one properly either.
I have NO other issues with texting. Just this. Facebook says it’s Verizon. Verizon says it’s Facebook. These companies need to get their act together SOON.
