In the most updated version of Verizon Messages, I've selected to turn off "chat". However I continue to receive messages as chat from people that I know are also Verizon/Verizon Messages users. Is turning it off on my end not enough?

I regret to learn you are still experiencing difficulties with your messages still coming through as chat messages DD88893. Let's continue to investigate your messaging concerns. I understand you have the latest app version. Can you advise what software version you have? Does this happen with every message conversation or only with other users who also use Verizon messages?

Version 6.4.6. The other person (my husband) as Verizon Messages, and he
does have chat enabled. But I don't want to receive chat messages. When I
look at the stock Samsung message app these texts are not showing up,
that's how I know they are coming through as Verizon Messages chats instead
of texts.
