I just installed the newly release Windows Message+ application successfully. All my messages are showing up, but only associated with the phone numbers and short codes. In the web version, I have associated all the phone numbers with names in the Verizon contacts so the names show up in that list, though not any of the messages with short codes.
The new app would be perfect for my needs, except that it doesn't show the names!
How do I get the contact names to appear in Windows Message+ app? I've synced the contacts in the web app, but that didn't seem to help.
Thanks

Just discovered that new SMS messages are not showing up in the Desktop app. I don't see a Refresh button or option. They do show up in the Web app when I use the refresh button.
Looks like my excitement over the new Windows Message+ desktop app was premature 😑

Same here. I suspect the Verizon Messages Team either placed the new version in the Microsoft Store prematurely or for testing only. I've emailed the VZM team and got responses back that don't sound like they came from the actual VZM team members but Tier 1 service/support agents screening the emails. At least, it appears they are working on getting Win10 M+ desktop app support back.

Hello. Have you tried adding them manually within the application? If so, what was the result? *Taylor

I had added them already using the Verizon Message+ web app.
I just checked the standalone app again, and the contact names are there! So if Verizon fixed some behind the scenes interface, THANK YOU!

Most of my contacts are in the updated version of Windows Message+ however all of the contacts in the windows People App have been deleted after updating the Verizon Message + application on 9-15-2021.

These details are helpful. Are you able to provide additional details about the People App you're referring to? -Lorenzo

I Hardly think adding 10,000 contact manually would be the answer.

Hello, DebMaff. We certainly want to help in every way that we can with making sure that your contact's names are showing on the Message+ application on your Windows device. When did this first start happening? Is the Message+ application on your Windows device up to date with its latest software version?

You would think the Verizon people here would know that Messages+ was discontinued a couple of months ago. Verizon said if you had it installed, you could continue to use it. Very kind of them. The contacts list problem was only one its problems. Read a little here: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-203105/ You could try out the "Verizon Messages - Open Web Client" which I believe is Verizon's standard browser page bundled with/built into a Windows browser. If you try it, let us know how it works.
Side note: About a month after I installed Message+ (V3) my contacts showed up - about half of them. Then, after a week they all disappeared.

(Can't figure out how to edit an existing message here.) In my previous message I said that I thought the Open Web Client was a standalone program. It isn't. It's just a link to access Messages from a browser - Windows or otherwise.

Hi Brett... The contact names are not showing up for me using the Windows Message+ application on my PC. I am using VZM Desktop M+ version 3.0.1
How do I make this application work? I need to have an app in the background that will alert me on my PC screen when a new message arrives, and let me know who it is from. The web-based app does not do this.
Please advise.

I'm having the same problem. It took many tries before I could successfully add the Windows 10 Desktop app of Message+. Now that it's finally working, it's only showing the contact numbers and not the names associated with the numbers. Even if I could manually add the names, it would take forever because I have lots of contacts and group conversations. Interestingly enough, the web version does fine with my Chrome browser. Did anyone else have this problem and manage to solve it somehow?

I am having this problem. I walked away from my computer for a while, hoping it was simply a matter of time; however, there are still no contacts.

I show contact names in my phone Message+ app and in the Verizon Web app, but not in the new Message+ on my Windows 10 computer. Is there a fix?

I have the same problem. Names not showing up but only the phone numbers are showing up in the new windows 10 app. I can't find anywhere in the app to add names to the contact list. Anybody know where to add names or get the contact list from the phone?

I'm having the same issue with the Windows 10 version of Message+. No contacts, only phone numbers. I installed it on or about 12/19/2021 and left it sit running ever since, and I just noticed this evening that it also hadn't updated the messages - the latest message was from 12/19. I killed it off and re-ran it and the messages updated, and have been updating for the past half an hour, but still no contacts.
This is the reason that I switched back to the old version of the app from the one in the MSoft "Store" some time ago, but now we cannot run the old version - which worked just fine - anymore.
It seems that once again the version in the MSoft "Store" is bug ridden. I hope that Verizon can fix this soon, but since it's been broken for years now, I guess I'm stuck with using the Web app once again. Sigh. Very disappointing.

Same problem here. Another user suggested ensuring that phone contacts are sync'd to the People app within Windows 10. That has always been the case for me - all of my cell contacts are in the W10 People contact list. If the Message+ app is supposed to "look" to the Windows People contacts, it's not working. All I see in both single and group messages are a number icon and phone number
Verizon, your latest Message+ app has a 1.3 average review in the Microsoft store, and there are several people reporting this issue both within the Verizon community and other online forums.
How hard can it be to get with a Message+ developer and provide detailed instructions on how to get contact names to display in Message+ on Windows 10?
