Early fee ‼️

I recently received an email from Verizon on June 3rd.about my auto payment on the 4th. I paid my bill on the 3rd in full, but used a different card due to loosing my debit card. After doing this the following day I received email telling me that I will be charged $30 beginning of July since I paid my bill early and didn’t wait for the auto payment. I’ve heard of late fees $5-$10 that’s typical. I want to know how many people out there have ever been billed for paying early. One other note I’ve been with Verizon for over 16 years. I guess this is how they treat look customers. I did call and the response I got was they could give me some sort of monthly rebate of $3 per month. They’re going to steal $30 from me on July 4th but they can repay it $3 a month. Any one else ever heard of this with either Verizon or another company ? I’d like one of those fat cats up in the ivory tower to reach out and please explain to me where that $30 is going to and for what service I never spoke to a person. I just thought I’d get it paid. I was told I could have paid it late a day or two and wouldn’t have been charged anything. This is my reward for doing the right thing ‼️🪂🇺🇸

I have no idea why Verizon can't simply refund you the $30.  If you are not using autopay for any reason at all, pricing is $10 higher per line.  Speculating you have 3 lines, which is why you were charged the extra $30 for paying early, because the system thinks you're in non-compliance with autopay.  Those who do not use autopay at all get a "autopay noncompliance fee" listed in their bill every month.

To avoid this problem in the future should you lose your debit card or if your payment method changes, login to your account and go to either "manage autopay" or "manage payment settings" and update the payment method there, but otherwise let the autopay kick in at the designated date so you can keep the discount.
