I get error generating pin message on my laptop when trying to get started with message+ Why?

What does the error message say? Do you get a text on the phone you are trying to sync messages with? Does that phone have Verizon Messages + already installed?

Phone has message+. Just installed message+ on laptop and when I click on the get started box and put in my phone number, it is working for 30 seconds or so and then get message saying "error generating pin" and asks if I want to quit or let it try again. Tried numerous times with same result.

:::sigh::: The Messages+ app has been through a few updates the past few days, and it hasn't been pretty. This may be yet another "glitch" that is happening with the updates to the new version.
What version is on your phone? Are you using the desktop app or trying to set it up directly through the website?

Ver 6.4.4 on my phone. Downloaded Messagepls-v1 off cnet.

I deleted the CNET download and installed the desktop app from verizon site and now works. Thanks for the help.
