How do I remove the slideshow preview pane when viewing an MMS image?

When viewing a picture that was sent in the message plus app, the preview slideshow tab shows up.   I do not like this, as i cannot see the opened picture in its entirety.  Please fix this....

Double tap the pic, and the filmstrip goes away.  Double tap again to bring it back.
