How do you delete an individual contact from the app?

Delete it from your phone.  The app uses the contacts from your list in the phone under Verizon Contacts.

Just to mention, I deleted the contact from my phone but it is still listed in the contacts of the app on my ipod.  I deleted and reinstalled the app to my ipod also but the contact is still there.  How do I get the app to sync with my current list of contacts?

Remove from phone, then make sure it is removed from the Verizon Cloud.  Every time a device syncs that contact, it goes back to the Cloud and then resyncs to all devices where the contact is missing.  It's like a virus...it spreads unless you remove it from all sources.
