Last night, my messages started acting up- showing "sending" when already sent, and receiving messages up to an hour late. In order to make sure it wasn't the app acting up, I uninstalled the updates from the app, then reinstalled them.
My app now will not show my contacts' public profile icons, and my contacts are still viewing my public profile as it was before uninstalling the updates- I cannot change my icon.
Did I mess something up by attempting to fix my problems last night? It's not a huge deal, but being unable to see icons is making my text messaging screen rather boring.

Fixed it! It was trying to restore all my texts, so I just needed to delete them!

I have also recently discovered that when I attempt to add captions to MMS messages, it seems to stop and force me to type in a normal message UNDERNEATH the MMS caption. Normally it would do that if the status of a message changes, but now it does it every 2 seconds and I have to repeatedly re-select the message to type more.
I'm on a galaxy s7 edge, and I've attempted to clear the data, the cache, uninstall and reinstall updates, disable the app, etc. And none of it has worked to fix these issues. Am I just going to have to wait until there's an update, or does anyone know a possible fix for this?

I have managed to discover I had accidentally moved my data over to my SD card. Once moved back the public profiles were fine! However, I do still have the problem with typing an image caption.
