I got a Free VZW msg, the other day, about "Android Smartphone workshops" I wasn't interested, and it says "To stop msgs reply with X" I replied with an X and was charged 25 cents for sending a text message internationally. I know it was this reply i got charged for because that is the only text message I sent out within an hour of that time, Just posting this as a warning, reply to the message, you may get charged a quarter.
I called customer service and they removed the charge: But, I will leave this up as a warning/fyi. The message was from 900-070-001647.

Thanks for sharing your experience - and glad you got the credit for the one text! It's only a quarter, true, but every little bit helps.
Incoming texts from Verizon are free - so there really is no reason to STOP them....except for the annoyance factor. As yo found out, responding to the text was not free, even if the incoming was free.
