I currently am on my parents plan, Nationwide Talk & Text FS 1400, with unlimited texting, and I have been looking online but am trying to find out if Texting / Recieving messages from someone in Canada will add any additional charges to my parents bill?

From Verizon's International Texting Info page:
"Text messages sent to phone numbers in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico are charged domestic rates per your plan."

You are good to go to text and receive texts from Canada. There will not be any xtra charges.
