Update:  I called Verizon and this is legit.  And now they are sending this device to us.

No idea why they're making this offer or to whom they are offering it.

Just so happens (perhaps they know this somehow???), we live way out in the sticks and struggle for phone service.  Not much signal.  I've actually investigated these network extenders before, but didn't bite due to a) they're costly at $250, and b) they require decent broadband, which we didn't have until recently when we got starlink.

Same text message, same day (2/1).  Responded "YES",  got "thank you for your response".  Nothing since then.  See nothing in verizon online account.  Not sure it is legit, going to call verizon

I received the same text and there are no corresponding email offers, or messages in my Verizon account. I feel that only a Verizon representative clear this up for us.

Hello, it does seem it is a legitimate text message from Verizon. We'd like to take a closer look. We've sent you a private message for further assistance. ~Christian

I got what seems to be a follow-up text from a 908 area code NJ VzW line to confirm I have high speed service and to provide a shipping address. I wanted to check on this as well.

I received this text as well, I’m guessing it’s legit 🤷🏼‍♀️

I need to respond to a PM with a chat session from a Verizon Agent on the board here, but need to take a block of time to initiate it. The PM I got says that it appears to be legitimate, but want to verify and ensure that everything is handled securely and correctly.

My suggestion is to confirm as best as possible before returning a text with any personal information.

So I received this text this morning and I’m not sure it’s legit……..Hello, my name is Randy, with the Verizon network team. We understand you are interested in us sending out a femto (network extender) to improve indoor coverage free of charge. But before that, can you confirm the following: 1) If you have access to high speed internet? 2) What is the address where we should send it to? 3) What is a valid email address for the receipt? Thanks!

Good morning, Mermaid24. The message you receive certainly looks suspicious. We do have a Network Extender that may improve your wireless service at home and you can buy it at this link http://spr.ly/6604MMXe2 at your convenience.

Please note that this device works with the internet service in your home and your internet service must meet minimum system requirements (http://spr.ly/6605MMXeN).

Thank you for bringing this up to us. I would also be concerned if I received such a message. We've sent you a Private Message to take a closer look. ~Christian

The number looks like the normal number for messages from Verizon Wireless. You can always check your MyVerizon account online and see if the offer is also listed there.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
