Keep getting texted with a code

I have gotten two texts giving me an authorization code but I have not requested one. Do you know why I am getting this?

Leigh30, let's make sure your account is protected and nobody is able to access it without your consent. If you feel like your account is at risk, we recommend taking some time to change your My Verizon account password as well as your Verizon PIN.

Sounds like someone is accessing an account of yours that requires authentication via text.  It is a text from Verizon or some other company?
