I can send and receive texts from my android phone using message+. I installed message+ on my windows 10 laptop. I can send messages from the laptop and they are received by the person I sent them to, but do not sync to my phone. Also messages sent on my phone do not show up on my laptop. I removed message+ and reinstalled it but the problem persists.

FWIW: I just got off the phone with Tier 2 buisness tech support. They did acknowledge the issue. Syncing between windows 10 (for sure) and Message+ is broken. They did not have an ETA on a repair. All I could do was tell them this was an important feature we'd like fixed. The agen did tell me they have gotten alot of calls. So I'd say, if you haven't called in, do so and log a case. The more of us that do, at least they'll konw its important.

Did they even figure out what this is? After reading the other boards here, I believe it is the last Windows Update stopped this app from syncing (at least for me). It seems to fit the timeline from other posts and when the updates came out. I installed new updates around 8/19 and I have not had the app sync since 8/19.

From Verizon customer support today: " I was able to confirm that the Message+ Verizon Messages - Windows Desktop application is not compatible with Windows 10 computers. " No estimated time for remediation

Well, that's just not true. Unless, they have a new definition of 'not compatible with'. Message+ DOES and HAS BEEN running on Windows 10. It just DOES NOT sync all messages cleanly. 'Not compatible with' would mean that it will NOT RUN AT ALL, which is NOT THE CASE. Really, what they should be saying, is 'it is broken and having issues syncing messages'.

Agree, but not worth arguing with the woman over it.

Deskop Message+ went from not syncing all incoming and messages to not syncing anything. Reinstalls, resets make no difference. Something recently changed in the app or Windows 10 or both.
I wonder if it is fair of us to expect a Mom & Pop small outfit like Verizon to be able to keep software working?

I switched to Google Messages with Messages for Web three days ago. It works fine. I can send and receive messages seamlessly on my phone or laptop (with Windows 10). Unlike Messages+, it also allows me to paste images into texts from my PC. I looked at the Microsoft app that others have recommended here as an alternative but saw some pretty negative reviews on it. Happy to say the Google app and laptop interface are easy to set up and work well without any problems whatsoever. (I use Chrome as my primary laptop browser, which probably helps to avoid any issues.) As a shareholder of Verizon, I am particularly disappointed that Verizon has done nothing to fix this problem.

My Motorola G6 on Verizon had a security update recently, but I see people in this thread using a variety of phones. Do we think the failure to sync ( Verizon Messages on Windows 10 ) is due to this update?
August 23, 2019: New update from Verizon is now rolling out for its Moto G6, coming in as software version PDS29.118-15-11 (System Update 5). The update brings August 2019 security patch, fixes the lags during scrolling and typing on the phone and improves the overall interaction with the phone.

Add me to the list. Verzion Message = works on other Android devices but not my Windows 10 computer. It stopped working Aug 28 2019. I can send texts out but cannot reieve any thing. I reinstalled Verizon message + and it synced all the ld messages but stopped at Aug 28. Wierd it seems to be a one way street ..... send only.

We'll see how long before they fix the problem. They clearly know about it.
We'll we can hope. My message+ deal on my laptop quit syncing months ago it seems (I lost track of how long it's been). At least, somehow, the order of my texts seems to be back to normal, otherwise all of my texts were out of order within each convo.

Supposedly that was fixed late last week. Broken again? Reminder - messaging is now a critical service for most people.

Since I had nothing but time waiting for Dorian to get to Florida, I decided to find an alternative. After looking at a number of multi-platform text programs, I decided to reinstall google messages on my phone. It also offers a web-based app that will allow you to text from any browser. A little more searching uncovered a nice little windows, mac and linux app that runs as a standalone (similar to Verizon message plus) called “Android Messages Desktop” from a developer on github. I installed it on both my windows 10 PC and it so far works flawlessly. You can find it at https://tinyurl.com/y94cq8rl. It does require that you run Google Messages on your phone, so it won’t work unless you have an Android phone.

I was thinking about doing something similar. I have Google and Git accounts so this looks like something worth looking into. Before I try it I have a couple of questions for you since you have been using it. I assume it won't pull any previous Verizon texts so its like starting fresh, right? Also, will it sync with my phone contacts?

rpopeszku,
I never really uninstalled Google Messages that came on my pixel 3. I just made Verizon message my default when I first got the phone. I just change Google message back to the default and all my texts were there. Same thing when I installed Android Messages on my Win10 PC, I have all my messages there as well. Contacts seemed to be sync’d to my Google contacts, which has always been my default and something I have never been able to get right with Verizon Messages.

steveet,
i just installed Google Messages on my phone and the Android Messages on my PC. Everything seems to be working great! All my contacts are on the PC too which is something I was having problems with on the Verizon app.
Thanks for providing a great solution! I will uninstall all of the Verizon stuff and quit waiting on them.

pbug561,
I have been checking daily since 8-23-19 and the problem has never been fixed. Where are you getting your information from and why did you think it had been fixed? Do you use messages plus on your PC or Tablet?
There are a lot of people posting on this thread with the same issue. I havent seen any "official" reply from Verizon to anyone indicating that technical support is working on the problem.

This was an email resonse to me from business customer support:
I have more of an update for you regarding Verizon Messages. We now have a network alert out that states the following:
The Message+ Verizon Messages - Windows Desktop application is not compatible with Windows 10 computers. The Windows messaging client for Verizon messages is being temporarily removed to prevent syncing issues and customers should be directed to utilize the messaging web client as a windows alternative by following the steps listed on the my verizon website- create and send a text: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-54302/
The Message+ team is aware is working on a resolution.
This was from an offical VZW customer service employee getting back to my ticket I submitted.
