I have an android, Galaxy S8. Since purchasing this phone a few months ago, I've had an ongoing issue with notifications from the Message Plus app. I see that others were reporting this in the fall of 2017 and Verizon has not fixed this yet?!?!? Sometimes my phone will show a "1" on the app icon, indicating I have a new message when I have none. Other times it will show that I have no new messages, when in fact there is one. I have missed number of important messages this way. Is there a fix for this problem, or can anyone recommend a better messaging app?

pjo2, I can certainly understand your reservations about ensuring that the notifications on your Message Plus app functions properly with your Galaxy S8, especially since this issue has been ongoing since fall 2017. You've come to the right place for help and I'm confident that we'll be able to find a solution. In order to ensure the highest level of compatibility, can you confirm that you have the latest software updates for both your Galaxy S8 and Message Plus? https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-s8-update/ In addition, do you experience any notification issues with other apps? Looking forward to hearing back.

My system is up-to-date. I installed the latest update that was pushed a day or two ago.
I am not experiencing issues with any other app, only with MessagePlus.
Tonight I had TWO new messages and no notifications were shown.

I have the LG V30 and I've been having issues with the message+ app as well. It stopped giving me notifications on my app, no sound notification and nothing on the notification bar. I tried every menu I could think of to fix it and nothing worked. Finally I just switched my default messgaing app to the stock one. That app gives me notofications but it is slow a lot of the time and sometimes crashes all together. Its very frustrating.

Having the same issues, all settings are good. It did work for a few weeks but is again not working. I just disabled it and started using the Samsung app. Very frustrating, Verizon let me know when you get it fixed.

It’s important that your messaging application is always working as expected. I would love the opportunity to address this application concern with you.
Can you confirm which model device you are using, and when did this problem begin? Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps previously suggested in this thread? Please let me know so that I can further assist.

I definitely understand the significant role our devices play in day-to-day life, and it would be difficult to be happy with notifications that are not working, djurad. To be sure what is the make and model of your device?
On an Android device, what is the current “Power saving mode” that your Battery is set to? If ON, does turning it OFF allow those notifications?

I have had the same issue with message+ in the S9 since purchasing the phone. I have missed multiple messages with no notification pop up until after another message comes at a later time.

It stopped giving me those 3 weeks ago. Already spent more time trying to correct this than it's worth. About done with it.

MBD1, notifications are essential to staying on top of daily tasks and timelines. With that said, we'd like to lend a helping hand. Thank you for confirming all the steps that you have taken so far. I would like you to place your phone in Safe Mode for a few minutes to help pinpoint the issue. Do not worry, Safe Mode does not delete any of your content or stored information. All of you 3rd party apps including the one that we are working on will not be available for the time that your phone is in this mode.
Let's go ahead and start the phone up in safe http://vz.to/1RS0qo3 mode. Remember Safe Mode will disable all third-party apps and give us a better idea if this is a software or hardware concern. You can also test the notification settings while in safe mode in the native messaging app. After leaving your phone in Safe Mode for a full 3 minutes, please do a normal restart to bring it out of Safe Mode and then test the Message+ app to see if the notifications are working. We look forward to getting the results.

This issue plagued my lg g4 for 2+ years it exists on my work samsung s7 and it now affects my samsung s9 personal device. Verizon has no business making software as they clearly can't handle it.

Timmatthews1, your notifications are important to us. With messaging becoming the number one form of communication we absolutely want you to know when you have a message. Let's work to get to the bottom of this. You mentioned that this just recently began on your S9, do you recall adding any new apps, games or software? Does this happen when connected to Wi-Fi? When going to your Settings, Notifications, is the App icon badge turned on? Do you have the notification slid to on for Message+?

Agreed it is terrible. Unless my phone is in my hand and on when I recieve text messages through this app I will never know I get them. Like just this morning I woke up unlocked my phone went to text someone and saw I had received a bunch of text that were not showing on the notification bar. I have checked all settings and they are on to where I should see them, tried resetting the app by clearing everything and reselecting each setting again, and lastly I factory reset my phone which we all know is the absolute worst thing to ever have to do and just ticked off to no end especially when it did not fix the problem. I have the Samsung Note 9 with all recent updates.

Messages are an essential part of phone usage Nacho88. I know this issue is frustrating but we will do all that we can to get it fixed. I'm truly sorry about the issue you're having with your Message Plus Notifications. Let's get started and thanks for all the steps you've taken to get this fixed. Since you've completed a factory reset, that would clear out any minor bugs that may be causing an issue with this feature and application. Let's make sure no other apps are causing issues.
Please power up your device in Safe Mode for a few minutes. Safe Mode does not delete any of your content or stored information. Here is a link with the steps https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-216816/. Safe Mode disables all third-party apps and allows us the chance to test the Message Plus notification settings while in safe mode. Once in safe mode, restart the phone. Now test the Message plus app to see if the notifications are working. Keep us posted.

Today I called Verizon Tech support to find a resolution to this issue thousand of other people are experiencing. After more than an hour on the phone, Verizon Tech could not even tell me what the current version build actually is.....I used to use Message + on both PC's here, and both stopped working around the time Windows 10 did an update to my machines. You'd think VERIZON would be on top of the issues surrounding this application, but wait this is VERIZON and they don't know what is wrong. That's the real truth, they don't know what is wrong with their applications. They dumb it down and say they know how frustrating things are, and then steer you into garbage that has absolutely nothing to do with the issues of their app not syncing and updating, etc. Horrible for Verison to respond with such stupid answers - so everyone out there here's your answer. The problem is Verizon's app, and they don't know what they are doing with it....and were so stupid as to not even put a, "check for updates" button in their menu. Want to find the latest download of Message + ? Don't call Verizon because they don't know where it's at either. Wonder if Verizon knows how to raise their rates, lol? Wonder if Verizon knows how to tell you the problem is with your machine, when it's really their garbage software? I'd be ashamed to put out a product like that and see all the complaints about it not working.....but it's Verizon and they are not ashamed to do anything........
