Message+ Windows PC app Broken

On my personal home PC, the Windows PC app stopped working about 3 weeks ago.  VZ Support's last effort is to contact Microsoft of my Internet provider.  Problem:  All worked fine across PC, iPhone and Android tablet until PC app (not web based text) stopped working.  Can send a text from PC, but cannot receive any.  Iphone and tablet still work fine.  Have accessed internet via VZ hotspot on iPhone so internet is not the problem.  Have uninstalled Windows/MS updates back to Dec 2018 and that hasn't helped.  Have a trouble ticket open [removed] since 2/11, but VZ tech support seems to be at a loss also.  Any wizards out there have a fix or suggestion for this?  Have disabled Norton also, reset router, uninstalled from all devises and started from scratch, nothing works...

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Message+ Windows app about 30 times over the last month waiting **bleep** either.  I don't get the feeling that anyone at Verizon is working on this problem, or the numerous other similar and possibly related problems with Integrated Messaging.

Same issue -- desktop version will send but won't receive. Running Windows 10 Enterprise on my PC. Tried removing and reinstalling the app on my PC. Have a Samsung Galaxy 10+ phone with Message + Version 6.9.0. The app worked fine for years until about a week ago. make/model mobile device are using? What Version of the Verizon Messages application are you using on your mobile device?

I'm having the same issue and running the most updated version of the app. I think the issue started with a big windows update a few weeks ago, or an adroid update (I have the most updated version on Pixel 3 as of august 19, 2019). I can text but I don't get texts. BUT, I do get texts from people using the Verizon Messenging app (at least from my wife; she's the only one I know for sure using the messenging app on her phone). So it could be a bug where the app is not syncing unless the sender is using Verizon Messages. Hopefully a fix is coming soon.

Considering Verizon hasn't updated it in 2 years no wonder it has issues. I think they gave up on it.

waywardfarm,

It is our desire for you to be able to send and receive messages on your most preferred device. It is encouraging that you are able to send from the computer, but we want you to have the full experience. Are replies delivered successfully to your smartphone or other mobile devices? Are you using a Mac or a PC?

I am experencing same issues. Claerly Verizon has yet to fix the problem, and from reading the posts apparently has gotten the problem passed to someone who understands what is going on.

@vzw_customer_support  Can someone escalate this thread and the other one related, to Technical Support for investigation?  Actually, this is the third active thread regarding this issue!

Maybe we all need to send emails to verizonmessages at verizonwireless.com to report this issue and get someones attention. I've sent them emails on other bug issues and got this included in the response:

"When submitting a bug report, please describe the problem, including the steps to reproduce it. If possible, send us a screenshot showing related error messages or demonstrating your problem. Please include the following information (for each impacted device) in your e-mail:
Device Manufacturer
Model Number (Home Screen > Device Settings > About)
Build/Firmware Number (Home Screen > Device Settings > About)
Version of Verizon Messages (Menu > More > About)

Thanks for using Verizon Messages!

I have reinstalled the app numerous times when it gets messed up but it stopped working a few days ago and reinstalling didn't help. I can send messages from either Windows (PC) or Android (phone), but they do not echo to the other device, and messages are only received on the phone.

Little by little we’ll see this through. Before moving forward, let’s confirm a few items. Do the messages reflect on all the devices when using the text from the web option here?

Yes, I was able to send a message to myself using the method above. Didn't show up on the PC app.

This form copy/paste reply by DavidH_VZW is why none of us feel like anyone is paying attention at all to issues like this.

No one. At. All.

The link he gave, https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-94861/, is outdated.  It says to follow another link, encoded to the clickable words " My Verizon", and follow the instructions on sending a message thru the Verizon website to see if even those messages can make it through to the PC app.

The FIRST instruction at that next page is, "From the Home page, navigate: Account > Text Online"

The word "Account" doesn't even appear on that page.  Anywhere.  And, just to be thurough, neither does "Text" or "Text Online."

This is our collective issue: The Windows 10 Message+ PC app, while limited and pretty user unfriendly, did work for text messaging up until, roughly, July 18th.  Without making any changes to our PC or Verizon services it seems to have stopped working for a LOT of us all at once, all at the same time.

Telling us to "uninstall and reinstall" the app is just wasting our time.  Several of us have already said it made no difference, even doing it several times.

Is anyone who works for Verizon actually reading any of the messages or is all bot controlled by buzz words??

Asking for a friend.

S_Kinison,

We can certainly understand your frustration with the Verizon Messages plus application no longer working on your PC. In order to help fix this issue, we would need to gather a little more information. What OS Version are you running on your computer? Just to confirm, your Verizon Messages PC Application has not showed any new messages since July 28, 2019, or are some messages not appearing? What make/model mobile device are using? What Version of the Verizon Messages application are you using on your mobile device?

Thanks,

I'm having same issues. I uninstalled thinking I could reinstall as this has fixed in the past a few times. However; this time since I run a Windows 7 platform it won't let me download and reinstall. From my readings the minimum requirement is now Windows 10. So until I update to 10 it is done for me. Windows will stop servicing 7 in Jan/Feb 2020.

The PC app stopped syncing last week for me. I just read this entire thread. I've been using and frustrated with this slow old technology app for years. I do 90% of my texting from the desk top so it matters. Dont ask me to uninstall, re-install, what kind of system bla bla. This isnt an individula issue.  Can somone at Verizon, the most expensive Cell phone company in the world simnply update this app. Call Microsoft, do what you have to do so the app works properly on all platforms across all devices. Syncing isnt new technology. So, please fix it, and send an e-mail or somehing to all usersa when its odne with instructions of how to update the app. It might cost you .00000001% of what you make in 10 seconds as a company but please fix it and stop putting us all off.

Thank you!

Same issue for me. Have uninstalled and reinstalled. The PC app doesn't sync on Windows 10. You can't reach anybody on this topic through Chat. It's really frustrating. Obviously many others are having same issue. VERIZON CAN YOU PLEASE GET THIS garbage FIXED?

We certainly understand how frustrating that would be. What Windows Operating System are you running? BrittanyC_VZW

C'mon @vzw_customer_support , @BrittanyC_VZW  doesn't your group have some kind of 'heads up' communication on 'known issues' that you have at your fingertips?  If you've read posts on this issue, it doesn't matter what OS is being used.

I don't know if Verizon has admitted it yet, but the problem is at their end. I had Message+ working fine for years on three PCs and recently they all stopped working at the same time. Two are in my home and one is at my office, so my networking is not the issue. None of them have taken any updates from Microsoft (they are not even installed from the Microsoft Store--I'm using version 1.0.17.0, originally downloaded from Verizon's website), so an update didn't break it. Uninstalling/Reinstalling or disconnecting/reconnecting device does not resolve the issue. All messages sync up to August 11 and nothing after that. Sending messages from the app do not get sent (neither delivered nor appear in my Messages app on my phone). So, until they figure out what they broke at their end and fix it, we'll have to just use their web version of the app.

Generally speaking, Verizon Support is not helping, just the same canned responses over and over again.

The app does not work on a PC anymore.  In my case it worked fine till August 9th.

Nothing, and I mean nothing Verizon support offers fixes the problem.

There are several/many threads with thousands of views.

Unless a robot is running Verizon support, one has to assume Verizon knows about the problem.  Yet NOTHING of substance has been forthcoming.

Abysmal support...
