Message+ app not receiving messages

Have used message + app for years on my Verizon phones. As of a few days ago,  Jan 18, 24, I stopped receiving almost all text messages. I seem to be able to send texts. The only messages I have received thru the app have been screenshots or photos. I've tried restarting my phone a few times and turning it off for an hour then back on. Can anyone help me with this?

Verizon is sunsetting the Messages+ app by June 2024 according to their website FAQ under "changes to Verizon Messages".  Am guessing this is some really old software they don't want to support anymore.

We're glad to hear that you're receiving messages, Lancekoehler. I know I would be a bit lost if I wasn't getting notifications. When did this behavior first start happening? Has there been any changes with your device before this started happening?

Having the very same problem as of this morning (Mar-11-2024);  using a Pixel 7 that had been working well for months now with Message+. Now,  I can only send messages but cannot receive any. I've tried several proposed solutions but none resolved the problem. I'm at a loss right now.

I know how much I rely on my text messages to work, as its my preferred communication method. I know that would be disruptive if I stopped received messages as well. Let's see how we can help. What, if anything, changed prior to this starting? Any issues with phone calls? What happens if you try another messaging app, like Google Messages?

any resolutions? my messages+ stopped working 4 days ago. I can't send or receive texts.  I even tried the Samsung messaging app instead and it doesn't work either. I just got my phone 4 months ago.

Any resolution?? I've been having the same issue with my Motorola Stylus 2021. Verizon techs haven't been able to figure it out.

I have Galaxy Note 9 and use the Messages app.  The same general issue started this morning with me as well.  I can receive text messages via sms/mms, however I cannot receive photos from either sms nor mms.  It gives me the option to download the file but I get the notification "Network Error Occured" message when I try to download.  I can send text and photos.

I have reset my network settings and then restarted my phone and I still have the problem.

I have also cleared the cache partition and reboot the system and I still have the problem.

I have tried using other messaging apps to no avail.

As of a couple weeks ago I'm having the same issue plus I'm not able to send any kind of messages either. I tried clearing cache and data and that did nothing. I don't know what to do as Message+ has been my primary messaging app since i had my first Samsung phone.

Don't know why Messages+ isn't working for you currently, but the app is getting shut down completely next month so it's time to switch to something else.  I use Google Messages as it was already installed on my phone and Verizon has been suggesting people switch to Google Messages, probably because many phones already come with it.

Messages+ is in the process of being shut down and permanently retired.  It was supposed to happen back in June, but got pushed back, although features have been slowly going away with Messages+ during this year.  The latest information says the shutdown has begun in September and will be done by November.  I'd find a way to download or otherwise move your existing texts which are important to some other app or storage service for safekeeping, and uninstall Messages+ to see if that gets your current messaging app to work.  Samsung stopped putting their apps onto newer Samsung phones in favor of Google's apps.
