When I reply to a message in the Message+ app it will move my reply to a random spot - usually 2 or 3 messages back - in the message string. It doesn't matter if I reply in the popup box or if I go into the actual message string to reply. I use a Samsung S7 Edge. I just updated the app on my phone and it doesn't make a difference. This has been happening for about a week now. It is getting hard to figure out what message I have replied to because it doesn't keep it in sent/received order.

It concerns us to hear that your messages are not being displayed correctly, Mgrife79. We understand the inconvenience of having messages in different parts of the conversation, and we want to ensure that this is corrected as soon as possible. We have some questions to better assist. Do you remember doing anything different on your device prior to the start of this issue? From what you mentioned, is it only your sent messages that are out of order? If there is an issue with your Message + application, we can reset it, for it to restart and clear any errors. Please follow the steps on the link attached and Clear Data on the Verizon Messages + application. Completing this step will not delete any of your texts. Please let us know what you experience after completing this step. http://spr.ly/6589DYsPf

There is nothing that I can remember doing that would have been any different than normal use. I completed the "Clear Data" step and went and replied to a message and it did the same thing. It seems to be an issue with the time stamp? For example...I will get a message and reply. My reply will be moved back 2 or 3 messages because it says I received the message I replied to AFTER I sent my reply to it. I am looking at a current message string and it says the message I replied to was received at 3:31pm and it is only 3:29pm. The received message will show the current time UNTIL I reply to it. It then will say I received the message for a time that hasn't even happened yet. Samsung did have a system update that I installed this morning but it didn't make a difference.

I am having this problem as well. I recently upgraded my s7 Edge to Android 8 and I suspect that is part of the problem. I agree with the mgrife79 that I receive a text and it's timestamp is about 4 minutes into the future. I do use message+ on a tablet and desktop computer as well, and have checked to make sure they are on the same time as my phone.
Please help. I saw in another thread there may be an issue created 98094-050318.

Help has arrived, JimB_MN! We recommend you to follow the next steps to clear cookies and chache on the application itself. Settings>Applications, select Verizon Message +, tap on Storage, select clear cache, clear data. After completed, please restart your device.

I am also having this problem, both of our phones have the problem, both are LG G5, only change we have done was to upgrade our plan. Received messages often have a random time stamp that is after the current time so newer sent messages get ordered before the older received messages.

Texting is how we all communicate E_HUTCH. We want to keep you connected. Have you tried clearing the data on the application? Here is a link that will help: http://spr.ly/6589DYsPf Please keep us posted.

I have the same exact problem and if I swipe left on my messages I can see that the timestamps coming from the server are incorrect some of them will be 6 minutes in the future. Sometimes the messages show up correct and in order sometimes they show up in backwards order descending newest to oldest up above my replies. It gets really difficult to determine what the heck the context is in a given message. The app is up to date I've tried clearing cache, I tried clearing data and I'm not going to factory reset my phone to try to fix this problem because it doesn't work for other people either and it's way too much hassle for no return. The chat feature boys gets turned back on at every update and that keeps messages from coming through until I connect to Wi-Fi which isn't always available so that feature needs to be set to disabled so I can even get messages.

Sorry autocorrect goofed up the following sentence: "The chat feature boys gets turned back on at every update and that keeps messages from coming through until I connect to Wi-Fi which isn't always available so that feature needs to be set to disabled so I can even get messages." "boys" should be always in the above.

jurroppi1, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues with your messages. These days messaging is the number one form of communication and this absolutely would make it a challenge to keep up. You have taken some great steps to get this resolved. Have you noticed if this out of order situation is specific to messages that you have with specific types of devices? Have you attempted to completely message those particular message threads and start from new?

I have followed the thread and taken the recommended steps but I also still have the problem. It is independent of the devices used by the people with whom I am messaging and is still presenting itself on both my phone and my wife's phone.

I'm having what seems like the same issue as everyone else here - almost all texts received are time-stamped by the server about 10-12 minutes in the future from when I receive them. The issue started a month ago (time-stamp was only 2-3 minutes in the future) and the time disparity has gradually gotten worse since. Basically the message is received immediately, but the "Server Time" in Message Details is 11 minutes in the future, so when I reply a minute after receiving the text, my sent message appears 10 minutes earlier in the conversation than the received text. Texts from both Android and iPhones appear this way on my phone. Other people's phones appear with the correct text times. Occasionally I'll receive a text that's time-stamped 2 minutes in the past as well (so it'll appear before my previously sent message), but the vast majority are 10-12 minutes in the future.
I'm using a Samsung S7, with full software update (last one was on 15Jun2018) and Message+ Version 6.6.6.
Fixes I've tried so far:
-Switching default app to regular "Messages" app and restarting. Incorrect time-stamp is still applied and messages appear in the same order as in the Message+ app (this makes me think it's not an app issue, but idk).
-Clearing cache in both Message+ and Messages apps, restarting. No change.
-Backed up SMS/MMS and then clearing data and cache of both Message+ and Messages app and restarting. No change.
-Unchecking the "Automatic date and time." No change. Rechecking "Automatic date and time." No change.
Hopefully that helps give more info as to what's happening. Don't know if that's common with everyone else in the thread, but that's what I've experienced.

That is pretty much the same thing that is happening to me and it is getting VERY annoying. It is getting harder and harder trying to figure out what message you are replying to or even where you are in a conversation. I wish this would be fixed sooner rather than later. I am at the point where I am going to start asking my phone contacts if they have some other type of messaging option like KIK or IMO or something just so I don't have to deal with this mess. Beyond frustrated.

mnvikes19,
I appreciate the additional details about what's going on with the time stamp on your messages. Let's dive deeper into this. Can you confirm the incorrect time stamp applies to your messages with Messages+ & Textra? Are these apps both updated?

It's happened to me since update last week. Texts, recent calls, photo gallery out of order.
I've set time zone and restarted multiple times. Deleted all text messages and just deleted all recent calls. Seems to have HELPED! Now how do I get my photo gallery to start sorting correctly? recent first.

It's important your device is functioning properly at all times, StricklovesSterlin. Let's look into this together and find out what's going on. What is the make and model of your phone? What happens when viewing your gallery?

I have the S7. Alarm clock also- I have the alarm set Monday thru Friday but it's still going off on Saturday and Sunday! CRAZY!
When I take a picture, it just randomizes in the gallery (usually just a few days of pictures- not necessarily showing up wayyyy back in time). It's not the most recent viewed anymore. Just jumbled in there.

StricklovesSterlin,
It's fundamental to make sure your S7 is working properly and isn't randomly performing actions you aren't requesting. No worries though, we'll get to the bottom of this for you. I was able to research this in depth and I came across a handful of users that were experiencing similar issues where their S7 seemed to have a mind of its own. The great news is that they had this problem resolved immediately after performing a factory data reset.
Here are some important details to know before going through the reset: http://spr.ly/6587Dv4dL.
When ready, here are the steps on performing the factory data reset on your S7: http://spr.ly/6588Dv4d0.
I am confident this will resolve the issues that you have had since performing the update. Occasionally the updates don't go through as smoothly and these hiccups can occur. Once complete, please let us know about your success!

I thank you all for these details, and Loren_VZW may be on the right pathway forward. Have the text conversations or thread been completely erased to start a brand new thread?
