Message+ overloading the system (CPU)

Because of a system request, I upgraded VZ Message+ app. Since then, I get periodic alerts from Device Care that Message+ is overloading the system (CPU) and must be closed.

What's wrong with it?    (This on a Galaxy S8 (yes, it's old) on VZW.)

Have you tried uninstalling/re-installing the M+ app?

Being able to use your Message + without issues is crucial.  Let's turn this around. To clarify, did this just start immediately after you updated the app?  What device is this happening on (the S8 or a computer)?  Is your Message + still working normally outside of this error message?
