I got a text from Verizon Friday telling me that Message+ is being taken away from me. I use windows 7 and windows 10 at work. The Microsoft Store is blocked by IT policy. There is no tolerance for Candy Crush and other pushed apps from the store. If I go to the microsoft store on my home PC, I can see a steaming pile of hundreds of reviews rating this replacemnt turd a 1.5 AND Microsoft or the adorable people at Verizon has pulled the app. *** It is no longer available. It is listed but the app has been pulled. ***
November 4th, Verizon is turning off a serivce I use. Because they care and value me as a customer, they are not providing a usable replacement. The deep appreciation Version shows its customers was demonstrated to me first hand today when a live chat thing (bot or damaged human) repeatedly sent me to the Microsoft store for the app; an app so bad that it has been pulled. Repeatedly telling the chat bot the app has been pulled did nothing but bring up a survey on my chat experience. Since the Message+ Windows app is being yanked from under me without a replacement, what are my options? I am not logging into your ad filled website to check text and SMS. The site logs me out after a few minutes where as the Message+ stays logged in for hours.
Everytime I use your site I have to run through a gauntlet of ads and the ever helpful display of my account balance for everyone at work to see. I use your website while teaching classes on UI design as an example of what not to do. The site is barely usuable to pay bills. Other than that it's a nagfest that requires I log in every 10 minutes. It's not even close to a useful replacement.
I need and use Message+ as is without the extra useless garbage for tweens you've forced into the reviled new version. Every single review clearly says you messed up the pooch, ran over it and then dragged its limp carcas through the streets for miles. You're taking away tools I need. I sit at a PC all day and texting from the PC is faster and I can easily send PC screen shots. There is no technical reason to pull the old app.

Thanks for taking the time to completely to thoroughly review the issue and dismissing my concerns as user error, again.
The link is there and yes I can see it. Thank you so much for asking. That was helpful. There is no download for a windows desktop client. The windows client link brings me to the Verizon website where I have to use an awful web client inside a browser to access what Message+ did without the bother. I've stated repeatedly that the web browser option with short timeouts and gobs of intrusive adverts is NOT AN OPTION. It is not designed for a desktop. Even b y Verizon standards, it's bugly. Using the Microsoft Store is NOT AN OPTION. Like the desktops I've imaged and deployed for Verizon staff at your Phoenix area campus, the Microsoft Store is blocked by IT policy. The point is moot because Verizon removed it from the Microsoft store.
I am merely asking for a replacement to the working program that I was using daily and happily until I started getting Verizon popups threatening to kill the app. At the very least follow the links your tossing at me or you risk being exposed as a fool. As a special courtesy, I've included a screen shot of what the link provides. Since you've inferred this is end user error, kindly show me where the download link for windows desktop client your alluding to is, and how should I access it?

OY! Any chance of just a modicum of respect and attention?
At the very very least READ THE **bleep**POSTS! Look at my 04-17-2020 08:31 PM post, your answer is there. I'm still getting fluffy useless replies from VZW. Face it, we're **Bleep**. They will not replace the message+ app with something useable. The stated preference of VZW is for us to log into our accounts on the web, suffer the endless intrusive ads, short session time outs, display our account balance, show full screen messages in type large enough to read from Boise and use the steaming pile of garbage they think is a usable solution. Logging into the horrid dumpster fire that is the VZW website for text messages is not a usable option. The function of the site is to sell garbage to me and I'm not buying it anymore.
As of this morning the app has ceased to function on both Windows 7 and Windows 10. It will not sync and simply displays the spinny circle of despair. Thank you Verizon, may I have another?

Web app does not show any old messages, does not show incoming messages. The helpful support chat people told me to reboot my phone. That of course did nothing. Called support, they said I'm in the right place so it must be my computer or browser. I tried 2 laptops, several desktops running windows Vista, Windows 7, windows 10, Servers running Suse, Windows server 2012, Windows server 2016 Windows server 2019 In each case I get a text saying my account has been accessed from a new machine as I should but the web page remains empty. with no sign of sent nor received texts. I tried Firefox, WaterFox, DuckDuckGo, Edge, IE and Chrome. I think I've ruled out browser and computer issues.

I see the same issue with the Web Messaging access. It should be a NEW thread, though, not tacked on to an OLD thread.

Pete_mc,
We want to amke sure everyone has the latest details about Message+ and Windows 10. The available devices and OS for Message+ are listed in question 5 under "General Information" at this FAQ: http://spr.ly/6602GXtbj
You will see that Windows 10 is included, but certain features may not be supported. I hope this information helps.

The FAQ has been there for ages and once again Verizon is trying to distract from the issue I've presented months ago. Let me reiterate is one short sentence.
WHERE is the replacement app for Message+?
STAY on topic!
Forcing me to use your website is not a palatable nor usable option for me. The crapsite has session limits and times out quickly and invasively. I want the message+ tiny little app instead of your badly designed page and advertising vector. It might look good on a phone and your marketing goobers might be high fiving themselves for finding yet another way to show me verizon ads but it's hideous on a computer screen. Given your distasteful privacy policy I'm loath to use anything Verizon offers that is web based.

Is there an estimated date that we can be looking forward to? I would very much like access to the actual app. I would like to schedule messages and be able to call people, since I am paying extra for postpay for the "advanced calling features". Obviously fixing the issues are most important; is there a way I can be informed on the progress of this?

The app works just fine on windows 10, in all its flavours so I would ask that Verizon reps stop parroting that particular line of odious misinformation. The app will generate a popup on install telling you that the it will be discontinued. That's why I started this post. I had to reinstall the app and I found that Verizon had not only moved the cheese, they buried it in the Marianas Trench. Given how responsive Verizon has been on this issue I wouldn't worry too much. It may be decades before they do something and the app is shut off. The problem is getting an installable copy of the app. Verizon has taken pains to hide it from the users that need it. Thank You Verizon!
PS: Forcing me to get an app from a Microsoft Store is a non-starter. In my case the useless store is blocked by IT policy just like it is on the Windows based workstations Verizon reps use every day at their offices.

Do you still need a desktop app that works? Are you able to get an .exe file from a Dropbox location? I could also do a file transfer possibly using WebEx, FTP site or something like that. I have the desktop Message+ v1.0.17.0 .exe file available.

I did find an old copy of the app and posted it on our company's file server. I had the app on a public site but I was sent a DACA takedown notice. Thanks for the offer

Thanks for your reply. I ran Message+ on my Windows 10 for the last 4 years. Got corrupted and I had to delete it but can't find a copy to reinstall. You'd think Verizon would either have fixed this right away or developed a new product.

The Dropbox link on my earlier post with v1.0.17.0 .exe file should work for download, but let me know if not. The later v2.0.2.0 version did not have an .exe file that could be downloaded.
There may still be sync'ing issues if you use Integrated Messaging with multiple devices, which is why the Win10 desktop app was removed. The Messaging Team is working on a new version and said they'll let us know when ready. No date.

The .exe files for v1.0.17 and v2.0.2 have been posted and accessible on Dropbox, but people have reported when trying to install them since the new Win10 M+ desktop app was released, they fail. Suspect whatever they were trying to connect to for the messaging service no longer exists or is blocked.

If you have an android, I've found a solution that works for me using Google Messages for Web. It completely replaced the Verizon Message+ app but it needs you to run Google Messages instead of Verizon Messages as your phone's SMS text app. For me that made it a win/win

I also have the win10 cabapable exe ver 1.0.17.0 but it whines nonstop that it being turned off
