Message+ using 26% of CPU! How to fix?

Message+ is so slow. Hardly works. Top of the line MacBook Pro running OS 10.13.6 High Sierra. How to fix this?!

We can certainly understand wanting to get those messages a bit quicker when online. Help has arrived to see what we can do to pick up the pace. Have you always had an issue with the Message + app running slow on your MacBook Pro? Does it show any updates available for the Message + app?

Yes it's always been an issue. Some days it's fine, and some days it's slow. When messages have images it's especially slow, but messages with just text can also be slow. Makes no different whether other apps are open on the computer - tried both and it's a super computer anyway.

Message+ version 2.5.0. Does not show updates available.
