I try to get Message + working on my IPad, but. When I click “send code” to my mobile, the text never comes, anyone had this problem? Tried several times, very frustrating, even tried using my work phone which is an IPhone. Thanks for any help you all can provide.

Ibgolderguy, sorry you've been having trouble setting up Veriozn Messages. Based on the Verizon Messages Apple installation page: https://www.verizon.com/support/how-to-use-verizon-messages-apple/#set-up
Before setting up VZ Messages, you do need to instaly it on your smartphone first. The steps to set up VZ Messages on either iPhone or iPad are on the page I linked above. Please use those steps first on the iPhone then on your iPad.

Thank you for the quick reply, I already have it on my phone (Samsung S23 Ultra). Is it and IPhone vs Android issue? I did the same process and used my work phone and it worked just fine.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out. From what you stated, you are trying to setup the phone number that is on your Samsung S23 Ultra with Messages + on your iPad. Are we on the same page here? Here is one resource for how to use on Apple devices https://www.verizon.com/support/how-to-use-verizon-messages-apple/ We can dig deeper into what may be going on with your S23 by replying to the Private Note being sent.

At what point in the steps for Verizon Messages, installing on the iPad, do you run into trouble?
Set Up Verizon Messages (Message+) on iPad
Follow these steps to download and set up Verizon Messages (Message+) on iPad. Note: Before you can connect to Verizon Messages on iPad you'll need to set it up on your smartphone first.
- Open the App Store app on your iPad.
- Enter "Verizon Messages" in the Search field.
- Tap the Search key.
- Select Verizon Messages from the search results.
- Tap INSTALL and follow the prompts.
Note: You may see ENABLE instead of INSTALL. This means the app is on your device but has been disabled. Tap ENABLE to start using Verizon Messages. - Once the app is installed, open it.
- If prompted, read and accept the Terms & Conditions.
- Tap Start Messaging.
- If desired, edit the nickname for the device.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- If you see a prompt requesting camera access for Message+ tap Ok. The app needs access to your camera because you will be scanning a QR code to activate your iPad.
- If you see a prompt asking you to "Allow Message+ to take pictures and record video" tap Allow.
- Open the Message+ app on your smartphone and open the message with the QR code.
- Scan the QR code with the iPad.
You've successfully downloaded Verizon Messages and added your iPad to your account.

When it wants to send the code to my phone to scan the QR code, I NEVER receive the code on my phone. I did the same process but used my work phone number (IPhone) and it worked just find.

Additionally, it might be worth checking to see if you've got a Picture Messaging Block active on your personal device. If you did, this could prevent you from recieving the QR code image. You can check via My VZ if you've got any active blocks: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-200867/

For several months now Message+ on my iPad has allowed me to receive and send text messages, BUT, ALL of the OUTGOING messages that I send do NOT sync with my samsung phone. Until several months ago, it worked perfectly. Could someone please explain why this functionality is not working???? Thank you.

@Rutilia, Verizon's Messages+ was supposed to be retired as of last month, but the official shutdown was moved out to the end of 2024. However, some of the functionality has been going away already over recent months.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

I have an android phone and have been using the Verizon messaging plus app on my iPad for several years about two weeks ago. It stopped working. It says it can’t send a code and get this, try again sometime later. That’s definitely not written by an American! sometime later? Lol.

Hello, Seawitch_SC. The Verizon Messages +, starting in September 2024, will be shut down. We do recommend using a different texting application. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Google messaging is what we’re being told to use. Google messaging is horrible! Horrible!! So you’re telling us to use a substandard application for messaging.
