Has anyone been able to re-subscribe to integrated messaging after accidentally unsubscribing without factory resetting their device?

I have a SG5 and have not been able to even after re-installing the app.

Let's make sure you get your messages working again, Missyd. What happens when you try to re-subscribe? Are you getting a particular error? At what point during the installation or subscription are you having trouble?
