Messenger+ not working with Samsung Galaxy Watch

I remember many months ago, there was an issue with Messenger+ and Smart watches.  Is that still a thing?  I can't get Messenger+ to send notifications from my LG V20 to my new Samsung Galaxy Watch.  The Stock app works.
