I understand that each IM is counted as a text message, but does the initial download of the service cost any thing (like text, data, etc)?

I don't have a data plan, only the 5,000 + unlimited Verizon texting plan, so I was just curious.

If you need to know the phone, it's the LG Cosmos. IDk if that matters or not.

If Mobile IM is not already installed on your phone, it will use data to download initially. I believe it is less than 1 MB, so it would be $1.99.

If the app is already on your phone, then using it will use text messages, and they will come out of your 5000 allowance.
