Multiple messages delivery incomplete

I sent a picture text message to 4 friends.  The icon next to my sent message (in my sent box) is "Multiple messages delivery incomplete".  What does that mean, exactly?   I know 2 of my 4 friends received the pic (they responded).

It means that one or more of the messages was not delivered - you can click on the sent message and then options >>> Message details or message info and it will show each of the recipients and whether the message was delivered to that phone or not.
