I don't get a message alert sound unless I turn on 'Notifications', which is labeled 'Display message notifications in status bar'. Did a recent update change this behavior? I've always had this off but recently stopped getting a sound notification on a new message. When I turned on the 'Notifications' feature I started getting sound again.
I know how important it is to have the notifications working correctly, tderby. Let's work on this together and get additional information. What is the make & model of your device? Are you using the default text application or Verizon Messages? Also, have there been any recent changes to the device (Software updates, new apps, etc.)?
