I think this is an error with the application and not a user error but I would like to know if anyone has had the same problem or maybe has a fix. I've been using this app for messaging since I got my phone and for some reason after the update to android 5.1.1 on my Sony Xperiaz3v the notifications stopped sticking in my notification bar. The issue is that I will get the notification and after about a second or less the notification gets deleted and there is no push button on the app icon itself informing me of a new message, but the message will still be there. It is like my phone is reading the message as soon as I get it, but I have no idea what is causing this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times and with the non-updated version of the app I have no issues, but once it automatically updates to the current version the issue starts again. All of the settings are correct to allow this app to be the default messaging app, allow notifications and after reading some other comments about issues kind of like this I have disabled the phones messaging app and google hangouts. I will greatly appreciate any help with this issue.
Notifications have to be one of the best inventions regarding cellphones, tribute12.
I have seen this happen to other customers who use VerizonMessage+ with the Sony Xperia Z3v. The software team has been notified and will be working on a fix.
In the meantime, please go to the Play Store and go to the Messages + app to uninstall the updates. Once that has been completed you will be able to get notifications again.
