Not receiving text notifications while on a call

I just had to get the Samsung S9 and cannot receive text notifications while on a call. I spoke with Verizon tech support and used the support app. I have had Verizon take over my phone remotely. NO ONE can help me or tell me what is wrong. Per Verizon, all the correct boxes are checked and turned on and I should be able to receive notifications, yet I am not. Please help me. I had an S7 and S8 and w/both, I could receive text notifications while I was on a call. I use Message+.

I rely on my message notifications to alert me of new messages and want to ensure you can receive alerts as well, LISAPNJ. We appreciate your efforts thus far and would like to take another look into this. Just to confirm, have you ever received a notification on this phone while on a call? When you are off the call, do you see the notification saying you have new messages? Are these messages text messages or picture messages?

Thank you for your understanding. I still am not receiving notifications while on calls. I was able to do so on my S7 and S8.

See below:

have you ever received a notification on this phone while on a call? No

When you are off the call, do you see the notification saying you have new messages? Yes

Are these messages text messages or picture messages? Both

We don't want you to miss any important notifications. Is Wi-Fi enabled on when you have this issue? Is your device connected to our cellular data network in Settings?
