Notification problem

I'm having a problem with my message+ app. There is no notification when I receive text message

I have to open the app itself to check if there's new message or not

This problem started last week. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times but it will only work for a little bit (few hours) then the problem return. Can someone please help me fix this?The app is on my iphone

All I do is message. If my text messaging didn’t work, I may as well have no phone. I understand how important this is to you. Thank you for attempting those troubleshooting steps to get this resolved. Have you checked the phone storage to ensure you still have enough free memory?  You may also need to reset the network settings on that iPhone. This can be done by going into settings>general>reset.reset network settings.

Hello,

Yes, I have enough memory on my phone

If I do the reset network setting, will that delete everything from my phone completely??

A reset network settings won't delete any of the files saved on your phone, like photos or contacts. However, any Bluetooth pairings or Wi-Fi connections would need to be setup again afterwards.

I did reset the network setting earlier. Uninstalled the message+ app, reset the phone and installed the app again.

The result? There is still NO notification on new texts

In the app store reviews, I read that some people have the same problem with me

If there are a lot of people have this issues, so the problem is not with our phones but with the app itself

Can someone please fix this??

It's very annoying that I don't know if there's new text message coming

Having that notification with the texts is key DDM708. We don't want you missing any messages. Although you don't get a notification, if you go into Messages+, does the conversation show the indicator that there is an unread message? Do you notice it is only happening with specific contacts or is it everyone that texts?

Nicole - Rick here from Ft Collins, CO.  I've had the exact same problem as the OP ever since I installed the most recent update (2.4.3) on my iPad Pro.  Worked flawlessly prior to the update.  I'm no longer receiving any notifications (audio or Badge App icon) when a text message comes in from any contact.  100% repeatable.  Uninstalling/reinstalling the app doesn't help.  I'm pretty dependent upon this app for communicating with friends/family, so am hoping a fix will be forthcoming soon.

Nicole, the notification problem is not only happen with specific contacts. The app just stop giving notification completely. I have to open the app itself to see if there is a new message. If I don't open it, there is no indicator of unread message.

You can see that Rick from Ft. Collins have the same problem. And if you go to the app store and read the reviews on the Messages+ app .. there are other people have the same issues.

I don't know which app update broke the notification system but as I mentioned before, the issue is with the app. Please have it check and fix the problem.

I've been a Verizon customer for  a long time but this will make me switch carrier

I have the app on iPhone 6.

I never tried to install the update on the app itself. If you could let me know the steps to do it, I'm willing to try it. I would rather have the old app back (before the updates) if  the notification will work.

I'm not sure what JenelleR is referring to when she says, "Have you tried to uninstall the update on the application itself?"  Once an update to an iOS app has been installed, there's no rolling back to a previous version.  I'm using an iPad Pro 9.7" and Message+ app version 2.4.3 and as I mentioned previously, all notifications of incoming text messages have completely stopped.  I've unistalled & reinstalled version 2.4.3 but the problem persists.  Please, Verizon developers, this has got to be fixed!  Thanks.

Update:  quick note to let you know that a couple of days ago, notifications (badges & aural) started working again on my iPad Pro.  I had restarted my iPad the day before, but know for sure I'd done this previously and it didn't resolve the problem.  So I don't know if something changed on Verizon's server-side to correct this or what, but for now the notifications are back (and I'm very glad they are). Smiley Happy
