Phishing Email/Text scam coming to my phone, says they are verizon wireless

I've been receiving emails to my phone from 2 places saying they are Verizon Wireless and I need to act now or my service will be shut off, go to this link. etc.

 

They are 1. Annoying, 2. Taking away from my alloted text messages and 3, you know someone is clicking on them and being fooled.

 

How do I get it blocked?  I called customer service and they said they can only block it if it comes from a phone number, these have email addresses.  i'm not even sure how they got the info to contact me in the first place.

 

Surely there must be some way to block these, they are misrepresenting Verizon and Verizon could wind up being liable for anything that happens.

 

If a verizon employee wants me to type out the whole message I will, or if you just need the email addresses and links to make it stop, let me know

Hi Lisa -

You can block messages from an email address by going to My Verizon, right hand side, Safeguards, SPam blocks, and there are two tabs, for phone numbers, and then Internet, where you can block email addresses fro sending messages as well.

 

Thanks for making (or trying to make) Verizon aware of this....if it' s alegitimate Verizon text, message it would be free.  :smileysad:

Thanks so much!  Its just mostly annoying, as long as they don't start happening too frequently.

Ok, I blocked all the addresses that it appeared that they came from, yet I keep getting the message and I'm getting them more frequently.  Verizon needs to step in and do something and block it from the whole network, especially since it looks like it si coming from Verizon

 

Anybody else got any help.  Nobody else I know on other providers have this problem,

They probablly use a different scam address every time so no way to block them unless you shut down texting.  Just like when they send to your e-mail online.    Try googling the e-mail addresses and you may find complaints and a lead to who they are and how to get it to stop is all I can think of.  Maybe if they are coming from a provider like aol.com, roadrunner.com and such you could contact the provider and lodge a complaint.     Mary
