I have the same issue, and I called VZ CS SEVERAL TIMES, and they are not helping, they opened 3 internal tickets, and I am still not able to receive any international text messages at all. I can send them, my family overseas can receive my texts, but when they reply it never makes to my phone or to my wife's phone, but my brother who happens to be on my VZW plan, is able to receive them. I am not sure what is going on, and they are not helping at all in VZW.

I'd like to ask about international messaging as well. My husband is abroad and I can receive his text messages but when I send him text messages he is not able to get them. Could you please help me figure out why I cannot send any to him but he can to me? Thank you!
