I tried to restore "recently" saved messages in my Message+ app but they're not showing in the "Saved Messages", "old" saved messages are visible and restorable but not the newest ones, why? I thought that maybe I saved them wrong in the app so I connected my phone to my computer and they"are" saved on my phone but for some reason I can only restore my old messages through the app. I even tested the Message+ app by saving a new conversation with the same results, it saves the new message conversation on my phone as a .vzm file but my Message + app does not recognize it. The app update is current with the last Message+ update being October 21st and the app not set to sleep. I also tried powering off my Galaxy S23 Ultra for 30 minutes to possibly reset the app and cleared the cache on the app settings but it didn't work. I have some sensitive information in those messages that i would like to retrieve, how do I restore my "recently" saved messages?

Where do you access the sync settings, inside the Message+ app or Android settings? The only thing settings I could find was under the Message+ app in which you can toggle Wi-Fi sync only in which I have turned off so I can sync with data and Wi-Fi.

I'm very familiar with the restore settings, I guess I misunderstood you when you said "sync" settings. Like I said in my original post my new saved messages are not showing up on the messages to restore list in the app settings even though the files are in my phone, that is the crux of my problem. I have no problem restoring old messages but not the new.

It's been a month since I posted my problem and 3 weeks since I have had a reply to help. Although I'd like to thank the people who did try to help me unfortunately none of the suggestions worked and I still have the problem.

Could you clarify on what issue you are having with restoring new messages? Are you trying to restore new messages to a new device?

Freddy,
Through the Message+ app I saved some message conversations from my mechanic on my android over a month ago, when I went back to restore them they were not listed with the other saved conversations I had saved in the past. I thought that maybe I had done something wrong until I searched for and found them (vzm files) on my android using my laptop. So my mechanics messages are basically held hostage from the Message+ app for some reason. I tried and successfully saved recent conversations since then and can still access most of my older conversations but not of my mechanics.

Thank you for the update. Aside from your mechanics messages, are any other contacts messages not restoring? What happened when you tried to sync the messages? ~Peter

Peter,
I think they're was another conversation that wasn't showing on the app but was visible by connecting my phone to my computer and finding it there but I can't remember what message conversation it was, I'll have to hook my phone up to my computer again to see. As for syncing you'll have to show me where to find that option, I don't see it on my phone in the settings.

Thanks Joe,
but my problem is why the message plus app is recognizing all of my restorable messages except for one, I know it's stored on my phone because I found it by connecting my computer to my phone and finding it in the Verizon messages folder. My problem is having the missing message conversation that's in the Verizon messaging folder in my phone to show up on the list of restorable messages on the messaging plus app so I can restore it. Why is the messaging plus app not recognizing that one particular conversation on the phone to restore? When when I found my messages on my phone through my computer I saved them in a folder on my desktop so I don't need to save them. A couple of times I heard about suggestions of syncing messages but have gotten no replies yet.

tomcost, thank you for the information. Have we tried un-installing and re-installing the app yet? I know you mentioned that it was already up-to-date, but I want to make sure we cover all our bases. To clarify, are you able to actually access the messages when you try to open the folder on your desktop?

Izzy,
I couldn't find a way to uninstall the Verizon Message+ app, it didn't give me that option. Yes, I can access "all" message files (and even read them to some degree with notepad) when I open the Verizon messages folder on my desktop, including the message conversation that's missing from the apps restore list.
