If I open the VZ messages app, it connects and I see my message. How do I get it to autoconnect and tell me that a msg has arrived?

The VM+ app should stay connected either through wifi when available or mobile data. You should never experience a disconnect as long as you have both enabled (wifi and data) so therefore you should always be connected and never need to reconnect.

Is it set as your default texting app? I get a notification tone when a message arrives.... what phone are you using? Or are you using the app on your computer?

On wifi, If the VZ messaging app is in the foreground, I receive the messages quickly and reliably. If the app is in the background, nothing happens until I bring the app up.
When connected to a tower, I get messages immediately, regardless.

Is background data disabled while on wifi for that app in Mobile Data settings?
