Ihave a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, I updated to Oreo the other day and since that time I no longer get text message notifications I can be looking at the phone and I do not see a notification for a text message I have to go into the app itself to find out if there has been a text message. All settings are the same nothing has changed except for the fact that there's no vibration no sound no notification bubble. Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone have any ideas of how to resolve it?

Hello. I am having the same issue, however mine is sporadic...sometimes I get the notifications, sometimes I don't.

MichBurk, we want to ensure you get your notifications. Are you using the original message application? Have you gone in your Settings to adjust the notifications?

I was using Message+ but switched to the Samsung app hoping it would work but it didn't.
I can never tell when I have the text message now unless I happen to look at my text message app.
Also my phone does not ring anymore which I didn't realize at first because I get so few phone calls and more text messages.
Whatever they did with the Oreo update has really compromised the sounds on the phone

Ah. That was a great idea, MichBurk. With the new-found detail about your calls, I'd like to ask you to check the setting found within the steps at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-214378/ and make sure Mute All Sounds is turned off. I'd also like you to use the steps at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-214202/ to make sure Do Not Disturb is off. If either settings is already off, please toggle it on and back off. Last but not least, use the steps at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-214473/ to make sure all the volume options are turned up. Once that's done, restart your phone and try to send yourself a text message. Does it come through? If someone calls you, are you able to see or hear the incoming call?
