Stop VZWPIX from sending

Recently, my dad's text messages to me have started arriving via email from <hisNumber>@vzwpix.com. Neither of us have any idea why. We're both on iPhones with iMessage active. The steps he takes are selecting the share function on a browser page, selecting my iMessage link in the share dialog. The "New iMessage" screen then pops up with my info and the correct page to be sent, but then the message arrives via email.

What's going on here? How can this be fixed?

Nice to have how to shut this off a public response. How do you stop vzwpics emails?
