Is there a charge for texting while roaming? Everywhere I look I find something different. Some say there is no charge, some say its only on sent messages and others say it is on sent and received. Is there a difference if it is to a Verizon phone? I have the 500 messages with unlimited to Verizon plan if that makes a difference.

Where are you roaming? internationally? VZW Nationwide and older America's Choice plans have no roaming charges in the U.S. Your plan's allowance for messaging in your home area is the same anywhere in states and even in Puerto Rico. It also doesn't matter what kind of phone you have.

No, I'm in Maryland at my mom's house for the holidays. Verizon doesn't offer service here and my phone has the roaming symbol so I thought I was going to be charged extra.

I am looking at Verizons coverage map and it seems like Verizon has coverage there....To update your roaming, try dialing *228 + send from your verizon phone.press option 2.

I just got the phone the other day. I had to manually program it because *228 gives me a US Cellular message.
