Text on galaxy with no phone service

Hi

I have a basic verizon phone with my actual number, then I have my galaxy for whatsapp Web email and so on that is like a tablet I can't make phone calls on it

I would like to know if I can set up to get my text on my galaxy too so like this I can Save all the chats and not get erased like on my basic phone

You should be able to.  When you go to set up Verizon Messages and it asks for a phone number just put in your basic phone number.  As long as that basic phone can get a confirmation text with the PIN code, you are good to go.
