I have a link to the Text Online login page. When I log in this morning it sends me to "My Verizon Dashboard" instead. When I then select under Account -> More -> Text Online I get sent back to the login page and the whole circle starts again. Log in -> Dashboard...
Any idea what is going on?

rlmmhc00n2 We understand your concern with the transition. The entire Message+ platform will be retired mid-2024 in light of the growing popularity of device based texting options. For now you can continue to use Message+ on your device. However, we encourage you and your family to start using the text messaging options on your devices now to ensure a seamless transition for your text messaging needs once Message+ is retired.
Update June 2024:
These changes are coming to Verizon Messages (Message+):
- Message+ app Shutdown - On or about June 2024, Verizon will start to shut down the Verizon Message+ app. Once the Message+ app is shut down, you won’t be able to use the Message+ app to send and receive messages.
- Messaging Web Client Access - The ability to send and receive text messages on Verizon’s website is discontinued as of 12/11/23. Your message history will remain. You can continue to use the Android™ and iOS versions on mobile devices or the Mac® desktop version. We recommend using Google Messages to continue to send and receive text messages in a web browser.
- Get instructions on how to use Google Messages on your laptop and eligible mobile device at Check your messages on your computer or Android tablet.
- For iOS mobile devices, you can send and receive messages only through the Message+ mobile app.
- eGift cards will no longer be available to buy through Message+ after April 2024. You can redeem previously purchased eGift cards after this date.
Android users: We recommend switching from Message+ to Google Messages on your Android devices before June 2024. Download Google Messages directly from the Google Play Store if it's not already on your Android device.
Note: While we do system maintenance before the shutdown of Message+, other participants in your group texts may see messages with a 588 area code stating that your number has “left the group”.
This doesn’t require any action on your part. You can delete or ignore these network notification texts.

And also they will, in general, pay off your phone when you switch. So T-mobile is the provider I'm currently planning to switch to. I recently learned that Xfinity mobile has good coverage using Verizon towers & pricing is pretty good as well. Not sure though whether they have web or desktop apps for texting from your computer. Nor if/how they offer compensation for financed phones from other carriers. If anyone has some intel, that would be great. You can be on hold for ages at Xfinity without reaching a knowledgeable person...

Sadly, VZ's hotspot plans are way better than other cell phone carriers. Even if they offer higher GB amounts, their speed after the data depleted is atrocious. I rely heavily on my phone's hotspot and I feel stuck until something comparable comes along.
Thank you for sharing this.. It definitely opens up options. I appreciate everything others have shared as well.

It seems the only way now is through the windows phone link app for windows users. I'm not sure what they have for mac users, but I'm on 2 computers with that app now, just signed in and it seems to work.
First opened the app on my phone, cause it was already installed, then went to the site below on my computer, clicked to add a computer to my phone, went to the link below and it gave me a code, signed that code into the phone app and it synced.

Hope that helps!

I have the Verizon Messages Plus app on my cheap Samsung A7 tablet and it works fine. Has anyone considered buying a cheap Chromebook just for texting? Seems like an obvious solution since they took it away from us.

It looks like that might be only a temporary solution.
As I was reading on page 2 of this thread, @vzw_customer_support posted the following:
"[withholding user name] We understand your concern with the transition. The entire Message+ platform will be retired mid-2024 in light of the growing popularity of device based texting options. For now you can continue to use Message+ on your device. However, we encourage you and your family to start using the text messaging options on your devices now to ensure a seamless transition for your text messaging needs once Message+ is retired."
So, reading this, it looks like it might work in the short term, but sometime in the future we will lose Message+ entirely. I do not see a post from VZ denying this, but it's possible I missed it somewhere.
Thank you for letting us know that there might be options on other platforms.

You are correct. I just saw that. I put Bluestacks on my laptop and the Verizon Messages+ app works. However, it only loads up a couple days worth of texts from any one person. How do I get it to load the whole 90 days worth like Verizon does with the app on my phone?

The new MacOS 3.0.5 app STILL gives internal server error message. Good thing I didn't get my hopes up!
(I did use an uninstaller app to get all the extra files, rebooted, then installed... nothing.)
