I have a link to the Text Online login page. When I log in this morning it sends me to "My Verizon Dashboard" instead. When I then select under Account -> More -> Text Online I get sent back to the login page and the whole circle starts again. Log in -> Dashboard...
Any idea what is going on?

rlmmhc00n2 We understand your concern with the transition. The entire Message+ platform will be retired mid-2024 in light of the growing popularity of device based texting options. For now you can continue to use Message+ on your device. However, we encourage you and your family to start using the text messaging options on your devices now to ensure a seamless transition for your text messaging needs once Message+ is retired.
Update June 2024:
These changes are coming to Verizon Messages (Message+):
- Message+ app Shutdown - On or about June 2024, Verizon will start to shut down the Verizon Message+ app. Once the Message+ app is shut down, you won’t be able to use the Message+ app to send and receive messages.
- Messaging Web Client Access - The ability to send and receive text messages on Verizon’s website is discontinued as of 12/11/23. Your message history will remain. You can continue to use the Android™ and iOS versions on mobile devices or the Mac® desktop version. We recommend using Google Messages to continue to send and receive text messages in a web browser.
- Get instructions on how to use Google Messages on your laptop and eligible mobile device at Check your messages on your computer or Android tablet.
- For iOS mobile devices, you can send and receive messages only through the Message+ mobile app.
- eGift cards will no longer be available to buy through Message+ after April 2024. You can redeem previously purchased eGift cards after this date.
Android users: We recommend switching from Message+ to Google Messages on your Android devices before June 2024. Download Google Messages directly from the Google Play Store if it's not already on your Android device.
Note: While we do system maintenance before the shutdown of Message+, other participants in your group texts may see messages with a 588 area code stating that your number has “left the group”.
This doesn’t require any action on your part. You can delete or ignore these network notification texts.

Ditto.
For the benefit of Verizon support service :
Site/App: Verizon Messages (Message+) - Website - Send a Text Message
URL: https://web.vma.verizon.com/vma/web2/Message.do
Problem: As noted above, you go there, enter your credentials, and you are sent to your account screen.
Platforms: most recent versions of Chrome and Edge verified.
When: Worked yesterday, not working today.

I'm having the same problem. Seems like a random glitch. I hope they fix it soon.

Same exact problem and reaching out has yielded zero results. Although I did get a good laugh when the person kept reading from their script that I should restart my phone....for a website issue....on their end. From other posts it seems like this will take days to fix, here's to hoping that someone in their IT dept can fix the problem quickly.

I see that Verizon has announced that "the ability to send or receive text messages in Verizon's website will be discontinued on 12/11/23". The Mac desktop version will continue to function. This is unacceptable.
Texting on a desktop or laptop computer is often the most convenient and sometimes the only way to exchange text messages. Some years ago, Verizon discontinued the Windows app that allowed that, forcing Windows users to use the Verizon website for desktop or laptop texting. Now, although Verizon continues to support the Mac app, they're planning to discontinue the function on their website, leaving Windows users shut out.
Don't do it, Verizon. Those other carriers have very attractive packages.

There has to be hundreds of thousands of people who are unable to use/bring their cellphones into their work environments and rely heavily on the ability to use the web portal to stay in touch in case of emergency's.
I cant believe that Verizon has been so short sighted as to discontinue this service.
Does anyone know if AT&T or other providers have a similar feature that we could switch to?

Completely agree that Verizon should not disable this!
AT&T has also done away with the web interface for SMS/MMS messaging, but still offers an Android app (for tablets) that can do it:

One possibility might be to run the Verizon Messages app in Bluestacks (or another Android emulator) running under Windows.
YMMV

- This is not acceptable, I will be forced to change carriers for my son if this happens. I rely on it due to his mental capacity. He is chronologically an adult but not in his mind. He thinks on a child level so for safety I need to monitor everything. Not acceptable verizon!

This is a great suggestion and will probably work for many folks, thanks. However, I tried it a few years ago and text messages would not sync with the infotainment system of my 2015 Toyota. Verizon messages did and does sync, Google didn't sync. Just be aware.

I tried before but it won't stay signed it. Have to scan his phone and it doesn't last... I need real time updates. Thanks for the info. Maybe something new I don't know about? I'm open to suggestions!

When you pair the phone with the computer, do you choose Yes when it asks 'Remember this computer' on the computer?

We understand Verizon is suggesting this as a solution but this is not even close to the same as an internal, desktop based Verizon phone texting experience, this is a standard chat platform just like any other. Am I missing something?

It is too bad that only (apparent) option is to use a Google application for sending/receiving online text messages after Verizon's decision to drop this service. My attorneys have warned me about using Google applications for any Intellectual Property matters so this Google option is not an option.

Yes, agree. I will have to change carriers if there is not a solution before the 11th. For people with Verizon iPhones using Windows laptops (thus unable to use iMessage from their laptops) this will make the texting functionality of the Verizon phone almost useless. Looking into alternatives. What a strange decision for Verizon to make. There does not seem to be an upside. They will lose large number of customers. An app for Windows in addition to Mac (where it is not even needed for iPhone users since iMessage suffices for phone and laptop when the laptop is a Mac) seems a basic rudimentary part of the infrastructure for any cell carrier. Guess it's time to check T-Mobile and AT&T. Still hoping they'll come to their senses in the next couple of weeks

Also:
1. Unfortunately the MacOS app is super buggy. Crashes constantly. Barely functional enough to use even for quick text exchanges. Definitely not for deeper exchanges over periods lasting an hour or so. Expect it will be officially discontinued soon.
2. Those of us who did most of our longer-form texting from Windows machines for the past 10 years will lose direct, convenient access to important messaging histories. Depending on the context this could have implications for ongoing legal matters, personal relationships, many things. If they really plan to shut the door on computer texting from Windows machines, VZW should probably enable exporting of text messages going back more than 90 days in formats that will allow easy searching, copying etc by users.
