Text tone customize

The last discussion about this was in 2017, and the app settings have changed.
I have a custom audio/tone that I'd like to put in as my Messages+ text tone. I'm not finding a way to add this to my list of text tones. How can I add new audio files as text/notification tones?

Don't bother because Verizon is shutting down Messages+ in 3 more months.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out to us on this platform regarding Verizon Messaging+. Please try the following steps, add the tone to the Notifications folder not the Ringtones folder in order for the tone to be listed in the notification tone options. The phone maintains three separate lists of tones (Ringtones, Notifications and Alarms). You can copy mp3 files between the folders and have the same tone for all alerts. Let us know how it goes.

Nope. Tone isn't showing up in Sounds under Notifications.

Thank you for letting us know that did not work. There is a Customization Menu within the app that allows for certain updates. The customization screen allows users to personalize the Conversation List and the message. Users can personalize their background, bubble, font, sound and more. Can you access this menu and let us know if that works?

That's where I've been accessing the Notifications customization. I see all the tones for Notifications- Original Verizon tones and old tones I added on the past. But I can't get my new tones.

Thanks for sharing what you're seeing. As another user mentioned, Message+ is retiring soon and certian feature may be no longer avaiable. I'm sorry about that, but likely that could be why the text tone customerization is no longer active.
