Tones for messages don't work Samsung Galaxy S8

Tones don't work to alert me to messages in messages+. How can this be fixed.  Thank You

Let's get those tones working correctly! Are you able to select the tone manually and assign as a ringback tone or ringtone? Is what you're selecting providing the option to assign as a text tone specifically?
