Using the SMS desktop app. Is my employer able to read/access my text messages via my work computer?

Using the Message+  desktop app. I downloaded it onto my work computer. Is my employer able to read/access my text messages via my work computer? My phone is not a company phone/plan. While I love the convenience of the desktop app at work, I fear they can access my private messages.

if your IT department can remotely access your computer they can see your messages. in most corporate environments they have keyloggers set up so they can access anything you've ever typed.

Even without loggers, the Verizon Message+ App stores all the messages it syncs in plain text into a sqlite database on the computer. Since the system belongs to your employer, their IT personnel can go through the files and find the messages with ease. I would recommend actually checking to make sure uninstalling the Message+ app removed the cache data. You can find it by opening windows explorer (Win+E) and typing "%appdata%\Verizon" without the quotes. If you see a WinVMAClient folder, you should delete it (preferably with a secure erase program).

Thank you so much for that information and being so amazingly helpful!!! You rock!

I didn't find any cache data for the app (per your instructions) so I hope it's really gone.
