VM Text Msgs - Problem

Is anyone experiencing problems sending and receiving tms to other Verizon numbers?  I was able to this morning but it looks like Verizon might be having some problems.  I'm on the East Coast.

Hi, i live in Arizona, and this morning i spent twenty minutes on hold, to find out that apparently verizon is having problems with texting. but only in some areas. my are is affected but my mom who lives four hours away and is on my plan is having no problems. My aunt who lives in the same area as me is having no problems, But customer service told me only some people seem to be having the issue and its happening all over the country.They also told me they have no idea what's causing it, and no idea how long it will take to fix.

It seems to be sporatic. I am in VA and have not have any issues. I just sent a txt to my friend in NY (also on VZW) and one in TX (VZW as well). I have not received a response in 10mins, so not sure if they are busy, can't send, or I'm having issues receiving.

It may just be that a series of towers are having issues. Cust srv unfortunatly cannot tell you when it will be fixed but they can transfer you to tech support to fill in a ticket for field technicians. This way they can gather accurate geographical information and make sure its resolved in a timely manner. Otherwise, those areas not reported will wait longer than those reported to see a resolution.

My guess would  be that the merger between Verizon an alltel is not complete in these areas and is causing probably causing problems.
