VZW test message app

I use the Verizon message+ app for texts on a Samsung Galaxy S7.  When sending a new text to someone who I already have texts from previously that haven't deleted, how do I get rid of the old text message string as I just want the new text message to appear on the new text I send.

To delete individual messages, you should be able to press and hold on them until some options appear, including "Delete Message". To delete multiple at once, tap "Edit Conversation," and then check the messages you want to delete. From the menu that shows all of your conversations, you can also press and hold on a conversation to delete the whole conversation.

Thanks for your reply, but that's not the answer I was looking for.  I don't want to delete the old messages, I just don't want the most recent string from a previous message to show up in a brand new text message to the same person.  (only if I was actually replying to their text or their reply to a text.

Messages+ considers it an ongoing "conversation" - so you will see all the previous messages (unless you have deleted them) between you and that contact.  It doesn't distinguish how long a time has elapsed between messages  - it just continues the "conversation".

I haven't tried this, but you could try adding a subject to each separate conversation - that may separate the threads....

We want to be sure you are able to remove messages from the application, digiesselmann and I’m happy to continue helping.

As SuzyQ mentioned, the message threads will show up in the application as an ongoing conversation. You do have the option to delete individual messages http://vz.to/2pJJHNe that appear throughout the thread. Please reach back out to us with any other questions or concerns and we will be ready to continue helping.
